| About the Luthier | |||||||||
| My name is Jerry Mis, and I have been building guitars | |||||||||
| since 1968. I am a Luthier , Journeyman Toolmaker, | |||||||||
| Manufacturing Engineer, and Guitar Enthusiast. | |||||||||
| It all began with a Supro guitar and Danelectro Cadet amp that my father brought home in 1963. I learned to play basic MelBay stuff, but when the Beatles came on the scene, that was it! I was hooked! The Supro was not the most playable thing, so Dad and I went about making it look and play better. That was the start of a lifelong journey into guitar care. | |||||||||
| I built my first guitar from scratch in 1968, one year before Stewart MacDonald started business, so getting parts was a real chore! The result was a cherry burst Les Paul 12 string, with 2 Lafayette pickups. I took second place in the state with that guitar. Many more were to follow. | |||||||||
| I have been taught by some of the best in the business: Frank Ford, Dan Erliwine, Seymour Duncan, Jeff Traugott, Thomas Humphrey, Brian Galloup, Buzz Feiten and Greg Back, just to name a few. | |||||||||
| Some of my more notable clients are: | |||||||||
| Ted Nugent | |||||||||
| Chris Campbell (Silver Bullet Band) | |||||||||
| Cub Coda (Brownsville Station) | |||||||||
| Jonah Clayton (Bandera) | |||||||||
| Boudleaux Allen | |||||||||
|
Many more to come. |
